TUESDAY, 25T JUNE, 1901.
1. The House met pursuant to adjournment.--Mr. Speaker took the Chair, and read Prayers.
2. MESSACGE FROMI TlE SENATE.-CONSOLIDATED REVENUE BILL (No. 2).-Mr. Speaker announced the receipt of the following Message from the Senate:-Mr. SPEAKER, The Senate has agreed to the modification made by the House of Representatives in suggestion No. 2 of the Senate in the Bill intituled "An Act to apply out of the Consolidated Revenue Fund the sum of Four hundred and ninety-one thousand eight hundred and eighty-two pounds to the service of the period ending the thirtieth day of June One thousand nine hundred
and one." The Senate returns the Bill herewith, and requests the House of Representatives to make the amendments agreed upon. R. C. BAKER,

Mr. Barton moved, That the Message of the Senate be taken into consideration forthwith. Debate ensued. Question-put and resolved in the affirmative. Mr. Barton then moved, That the Clerk be instructed to write into the Bill the amendments to the
Bill, ordered by this House to be made last Friday, as appearing in the Message of that day returning the Bill to the Senate. Debate ensued. Question-put and resolved in the affirmative. Ordered-That the Bill be returned to the Senate with the following Message :-Mr. PRESIDENT,
The House of Representatives, having made the amendments to the Bill ordered by it to be made last Friday as indicated by Message of that day, now returns the Bill for the considera-tion of the Senate,
,3 PUBLIC SERVICE BILL.-The Order of the Day for the further consideration of this Bill in Committee of the whole House having been read-Mr, Speaker left the Chair, and the House resolved itself into a Committee of the Whole, Mr. Speaker resumed the Chair; Mr. Chanter reported that the Committee had made progress in
the Bill, and that he was directed to move, That the Committee may have leave to sit again. Resolved-That the House will, at a later hour of the day, again resolve itself into the said Committee.

4. MESSAGE FROM THE SENATE.--CONSOLIDATED REVENUE BILL (NO. 2).-Mr. Speaker announced the receipt of the following Message from the Senate:-MR. SPEAKER,
The Senate returns to the House of Representatives the Bill intituled "An Act to apply out of the Consolidated Revenue Fund the sum of Four hundred and ninety-one thousand eight hundred and eighty-two pounds to the service of the period ending the thirtieth day of June One thousand nine hundred and one," and informs that House that the Senate has agreed to the Bill as amended by the House of Representatives, in accordance with the suggestions of the Senate as modified by the House of Representatives.

5. PUBLIc SERVICE BILL.-The Order of the.Day for the further consideration of this Bill in Committee of the whole House having been read-Mr. Speaker left the Chair, and the House resolved itself into a Committee of the Whole. Mr. Speaker resumed the Chair; Mr. Chanter reported that the Committee had made progress in
the Bill, and that he was directed to move, That the Committee may have leave to sit again. Resolved-That the House will, to-morrow, again resolve itself into the said Committee.
6. MEMBERS PRESENT.-All Members present except-The Minister of Home Affairs (the Honorable Sir William Lyne, K.C.M.G.), and Messrs. Brown, Joseph Cook, Cruickshank, G. B. Edwards, Glynn, A. C. Groom, Kennedy, Macdonald-Paterson, McDonald, Sir Malcolm McEacharn, Messrs. F. E. McLean, Phillips, Reid, Bruce Smith, Spence, Watkins, Watson, Wilkinson, and Willis.
7. ADJOURNMENT.-Mr. Deakin moved, That the House do now adjourn. Question-put and resolved in the affirmative.
And then the House, at six minutes past ten o'clock p.m., adjourned until to-morrow at half-past two o'clock p.m.
