The Speaker made a statement concerning the Senate schedule of amendments to the Superannuation Guarantee (Administration) Bill 1992 transmitted and agreed to by the House on 24 June 1992. The Speaker informed the House that the schedule contained 4 amendments not made by the Senate and that the Bill had not been passed by both Houses in identical terms. The Speaker stated that he understood it was intended to move a motion in the Senate to the effect that a corrected schedule of amendments made by the Senate on 24 June 1992 be forwarded to the House and that the House be asked to reconsider the Bill with the corrected schedule. The Speaker also advised that if such a message is received, then, for the House to deal with this matter as expeditiously as possible, it will be necessary to suspend the standing and sessional orders to allow the House to rescind its resolution of 24 June 1992 and consider the revised schedule in the committee of the whole.
