Notice given 28 April 2010

2795  Senator Ronaldson: To ask the Minister for Climate Change, Energy Efficiency and Water—

(1) How many departmental staff were, or will be, assigned to the planning and/or the implementation of the Government’s proposed emissions trading scheme (ETS) on: (a) 1 July 2008; (b) 1 July 2009; (c) 28 April 2010; (d) 1 July 2011; (e) 1 July 2012; and (f) 1 July 2013.

(2) How many current departmental staff are expected to be: (a) redeployed within the Australian Public Service (APS); and (b) retrenched from the APS, following the announcement of a delay in implementing the proposed ETS.

 

 (3) What is, or will be, the total annual cost of salaries for staff assigned to the planning and/or the implementation of the proposed ETS for each of the following financial years: (a) 2008-09; (b) 2009-10; (c) 2010-11; (d) 2011-12; and (e) 2012-13.

(4) For the period 1 January 2007 to 28 April 2010, what was the total cost of all advertising, research and public relations activity undertaken by the department and/or its predecessor in relation to climate change.
