Notice given 9 December 1998

358  Senator Faulkner: To ask the Special Minister of State—

(1) During the period 1 July 1996 to 7 December 1998, how many members of the House of Representatives have; (a) sought; and (b) received, access to additional funding through the Department of Finance and Administration (DOFA) for personalised letterhead stationary and other approved printing material under the Parliamentary Entitlements Regulations 1997.

(2) (a) Which members of the House of Representatives have sought or received access to this additional funding; and (b) for each member, what was: (i) the total printing volume, and (ii) the total dollar value, of the printing jobs involved.

(3) (a) In each of the cases given in answer to paragraph (2), was compliance with finance regulation no. 8 in relation to the collection of periodic competitive quotes checked by DOFA offices; and (b) by what means is compliance confirmed.

(4) (a) In each of the cases given in answer to paragraph (2), was compliance with the guidelines circulated by the Speaker of the House of Representatives in relation to the administration of members’ printing entitlements checked by DOFA officers; and (b) by what means is compliance confirmed.

(5) Is it always the case that DOFA funding for members’ printing entitlements is only sought once a member’s Department of House of Representatives entitlement has been exhausted.
