9       Passports Legislation Amendment (Overseas Travel by Child Sex Offenders) Bill 2017

A message from the House of Representatives was reported transmitting for the concurrence of the Senate the following bill:

Message no. 186, dated 20 June 2017—A Bill for an Act to amend legislation relating to passports and the criminal law, and for related purposes.

The Minister for Finance (Senator Cormann) moved—That this bill may proceed without formalities and be now read a first time.

Question put and passed.

Consideration of legislation : Senator Cormann, by leave, moved—That the provisions of paragraphs (5) to (8) of standing order 111 not apply to this bill, allowing it to be considered during this period of sittings.
