Messages from the House of Representatives were reported transmitting for the concurrence of the Senate the following bills:

Message no. 567, dated 2 March 2016—A Bill for an Act to amend the law relating to aged care, and for related purposes.

Message no. 566, dated 2 March 2016—A Bill for an Act to amend the law relating to taxation, and for related purposes.

The Minister for Vocational Education and Skills (Senator Ryan) moved—That these bills may proceed without formalities, may be taken together and be now read a first time.

Question put and passed.

Senator Ryan moved—That these bills be now read a second time.

On the motion of Senator Ryan the debate was adjourned and the resumption of the debate made an order of the day for a later hour.
