ADMINISTRATION—ATTORNEY-GENERAL—NATIONAL DATA RETENTION SCHEME—PROPOSED ORDER FOR PRODUCTION OF DOCUMENTS

Senator Ludlam, pursuant to notice of motion not objected to as a formal motion, moved general business notice of motion no. 976—That there be laid on the table by the Minister representing the Attorney-General, no later than noon on Monday, 29 October 2012, the following:

 (a) a list of dates, invitees and attendees of meetings held between the Attorney-General's Department and ISPs, consumer and content industry groups regarding a national data retention scheme;

 (b) briefing notes and advice generated by the Attorney-General's Department in advance of the meetings;

 (c) interdepartmental communications - emails and documents pertaining to the meetings; and

 (d) minutes and reports of these meetings.

Statement by leave: Senator Ludlam, by leave, made a statement relating to the motion.
