ENVIRONMENT—RIVER MURRAY—EXTRACTION CAPS

Senator Xenophon, also on behalf of Senator Hanson-Young, pursuant to notice of motion not objected to as a formal motion, moved general business notice of motion no. 739—That the Senate notes that South Australia has substantially adhered to River Murray extraction caps since 1968, whereas other states in the Murray Darling Basin have increased extractions by at least 3 000 gigalitres.
