PETITIONS

The following 6 petitions, lodged with the Clerk by the senators indicated, were received:

 Senator Collins, from 201 petitioners, requesting that the Senate take action to amend the National Employment Standards with regard to public holidays.

 Senator Humphries, from 100 petitioners, requesting that the Senate take action to amend the Marriage Act 1961 to recognise all marriages, regardless of the sex or gender of the partners concerned.

 Senator Waters, 3 petitions similar in wording, from 4 537, 925 and 216 petitioners, requesting that the Senate take action to include the listing of Canis dingo within the full meaning of the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999, and declare the species as `threatened'.

 Senator Williams, from 267 petitioners, requesting that the Senate call on the Prime Minister to hold a general election.
