RURAL AFFAIRS AND TRANSPORT REFERENCES COMMITTEE—MATTERS REFERRED TO COMMITTEE IN PREVIOUS PARLIAMENT

Senator Parry, at the request of the Chair of the Rural Affairs and Transport References Committee (Senator Heffernan), tabled the following report:

 The Senate Rural Affairs and Transport References Committee met on 21 0ctober 2010 and resolved to recommend to the Senate:

 That the following inquiry of the 42nd Parliament be re-adopted:

  Inquiry into Australian horse industry and an emergency animal disease response agreement with a reporting date of 25 November 2010.

 The committee also resolved to recommend to the Senate that the committee have the power to consider and use the records of the Senate Standing Committee on Rural and Regional Affairs and Transport appointed in the previous parliament.

 The committee tabled a report of this inquiry on 30 August 2010 in which it advised the Senate that the intervening federal election had prevented the committee from completing its examination of this matter.
