SELECTION OF BILLS—STANDING COMMITTEE—REPORT NO. 11 OF 2010

The Chair of the Selection of Bills Committee (Senator McEwen), by leave, tabled the following report:

SELECTION OF BILLS COMMITTEE

REPORT NO. 11 OF 2010

 1. The committee met in private session on Thursday, 30 September 2010 at 3.51 pm.

 2. The committee resolved to recommend—That—

  (a) the provisions of the Airports Amendment Bill 2010 be referred immediately to the Rural Affairs and Transport Legislation Committee for inquiry and report by 16 November 2010;

  (b) the provisions of the Australian Civilian Corps Bill 2010 be referred immediately to the Foreign Affairs, Defence and Trade Legislation Committee for inquiry and report by 17 November 2010;

  (c) the provisions of the Autonomous Sanctions Bill 2010 be referred immediately to the Foreign Affairs, Defence and Trade Legislation Committee for inquiry and report by 18 November 2010;

  (d) the Aviation Crimes and Policing Legislation Amendment Bill 2010 be referred immediately to the Legal and Constitutional Affairs Legislation Committee for inquiry and report by 16 November 2010;

  (e) the provisions of the Civil Dispute Resolution Bill 2010 be referred immediately to the Legal and Constitutional Affairs Legislation Committee for inquiry and report by 22 November 2010;

  (f) the Commonwealth Commissioner for Children and Young People Bill 2010 be referred immediately to the Community Affairs Legislation Committee for inquiry and report by the last sitting day in May 2011;

  (g) the provisions of the Corporations Amendment (No. 1) Bill 2010 be referred immediately to the Economics Legislation Committee for inquiry and report by 16 November 2010;

  (h) the provisions of the Corporations Amendment (Sons of Gwalia) Bill 2010 be referred immediately to the Legal and Constitutional Affairs Legislation Committee for inquiry and report by 18 November 2010;

  (i) the Crimes Legislation Amendment Bill 2010 be referred immediately to the Legal and Constitutional Affairs Legislation Committee for inquiry and report by 17 November 2010;

  (j) the provisions of the Defence Legislation Amendment (Security of Defence Premises) Bill 2010 be referred immediately to the Foreign Affairs, Defence and Trade Legislation Committee for inquiry and report by 16 November 2010;

  (k) the provisions of the Human Rights (Parliamentary Scrutiny) Bill 2010 and the Human Rights (Parliamentary Scrutiny) (Consequential Provisions) Bill 2010 be referred immediately to the Legal and Constitutional Affairs Legislation Committee for inquiry and report by 23 November 2010;

  (l) the provisions of the National Broadcasting Legislation Amendment Bill 2010 be referred immediately to the Environment and Communications Legislation Committee for inquiry and report by 16 November 2010;


  (m) the provisions of the National Health Amendment (Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme) Bill 2010 be referred immediately to the Community Affairs Legislation Committee for inquiry and report by 16 November 2010;

  (n) the provisions of the National Health and Hospitals Network Bill 2010 be referred immediately to the Community Affairs Legislation Committee for inquiry and report by 18 November 2010;

  (o) the provisions of the Radiocommunications Amendment Bill 2010 be referred immediately to the Environment and Communications Legislation Committee for inquiry and report by 17 November 2010;

  (p) the provisions of the Sex and Age Discrimination Legislation Amendment Bill 2010 be referred immediately to the Legal and Constitutional Affairs Legislation Committee for inquiry and report by the third sitting day of 2011; and

  (q) the provisions of the Telecommunications Interception and Intelligence Services Legislation Amendment Bill 2010 be referred immediately to the Legal and Constitutional Affairs Legislation Committee for inquiry and report by 24 November 2010.

 3. The committee resolved to recommend—That the following bills not be referred to committees:
