The Leader of the Australian Greens (Senator Bob Brown), pursuant to notice of motion not objected to as a formal motion, moved general business notice of motion no. 766—That the Senate calls on the Government to amend the Commonwealth Electoral Act 1918 before the next federal election to incorporate a Truth in Political Advertising Unit to monitor and regulate political advertising to ensure it is true and accurate.
