COMMITTEES-CHANGES IN MEMBERSHIP

The President informed the Senate that he had received a letter from the Leader of the Government (Senator Button) requesting changes in the membership of certain Committees.

The Manager of Government Business (Senator Evans), by leave, moved-

(1) That Senator Coates, having been duly nominated in accordance with Resolution of the Senate of 25 March 1982, be appointed a member of the Standing Committee on Appropriations and Staffing.

(2) That Senator West, having been duly nominated in accordance with Resolution of the Senate of 28 February 1985, be appointed a member of the Joint Standing Committee on the New Parliament House.

(3) That Senator Sibraa be discharged from further attendance on the Joint Committee on Foreign Affairs and Defence and that Senator Morris, having been duly nominated in accordance with Resolution of the Senate of 28 February 1985, be appointed a member of the Committee.

(4) That Senator Tate be discharged from further attendance on the Standing Committee for the Scrutiny of Bills and that Senator McKiernan, having been duly nominated in accordance with Resolution of the Senate of 25 May 1982, be appointed a member of the Committee.

(5) That Senator Tate be discharged from further attendance on the Standing Committee on Constitutional and Legal Affairs and that Senator Reynolds, having been duly nominated in accordance with Standing Order 36AA, be appointed a member of the Committee.

(6) That Senator Black be discharged from further attendance on the Standing Committee on Science, Technology and the Environment and that Senator West, having been duly nominated in accordance with Standing Order 36AA, be appointed a member of the Committee.

(7) That Senator Cook be discharged from further attendance on the Standing Orders Committee and that Senator Evans, having been duly nominated in accordance with Standing Order 33, be appointed a member of the Committee.
