DEFENCE INITIATIVES IN THE SOUTH PACIFIC-MINISTERIAL STATEMENT

Order of the Day read for the adjourned debate on the motion of the Minister for Resources and Energy (Senator Evans)-That the Senate take note of the Statement-And on the motion moved by Senator Evans, viz: That the resumption of the debate be an Order of the Day for the next day of sitting-And on the amendment moved thereto by Senator Durack, viz: Leave out ""the next day of sitting'', insert ""a later hour of the day''.

Suspension of Standing Orders to permit resumption of debate forthwith: Senator Evans moved-That so much of the Standing Orders be suspended as would prevent debate resuming forthwith on the motion-That the Senate take note of the Statement.
