Proposed suspension of Sessional Order: The Leader of the Opposition in the Senate (Senator Chaney), pursuant to contingent notice, moved-That so much of the Sessional Order relating to the consideration of Government Papers be suspended as would prevent Senator Chaney moving a motion relating to the order in which the papers are called on by the President.

Debate ensued.

Pursuant to Sessional Order, consideration of Government Papers was interrupted.

Government Papers-further consideration: Senator Messner, by leave, moved-That the Government Papers tabled earlier this day (see Entry No. 5 above) be called on at the consideration of Government Papers, pursuant to Sessional Order, on the next day of sitting.
