The following 11 petitions, lodged with the Clerk by the Senators indicated, were received:

Senator Macklin, from 19 petitioners praying that the Senate reject the imposition of a tertiary education administration charge or reduce the charge for non full-time students.

Senator Macklin, from 320 petitioners praying that the Senate request the Government to oppose the process of food irradiation and ban the importation of radioactive substances used in this process.

Senator Siddons, from 97 petitioners praying that the lease of the joint Australian-United States Defence Space Research Facility at Pine Gap be terminated.

Senator Macklin, from 30 petitioners praying that the Senate support the Constitution Alteration (Democratic Elections) Bill 1985.
