Contingent Notice of Motion: The Leader of the Australian Democrats (Senator Haines): To move (contingent on the Senate on any day concluding its consideration of any item of business and prior to the Senate proceeding to the consideration of another item of business)-That so much of the Standing Orders be suspended as would prevent the Leader of the Australian Democrats (Senator Haines) moving a motion relating to the conduct of the business of the Senate.

Notices of Motion withdrawn: The Chairman of the Standing Committee on Regulations and Ordinances (Senator Cooney), in accordance with notices of intention given on 13 November 1986, withdrew Business of the Senate, Notices of Motion Nos 2 to 12 standing in his name for this day, for the disallowance of the Crimes (Amendment) Ordinance 1986 (as contained in Australian Capital Territory Ordinance No. 15 of 1986), the Public Service Regulations (Amendment) (as contained in Statutory Rules 1986 No. 130), the Air Navigation Regulations (Amendment) (as contained in Statutory Rules 1986 No. 141), the Navigation Orders (as contained in Navigation (Orders) Regulations Orders Nos 5 to 11 of 1986), Defence Determination No. 46 of 1986, the Crimes (Amendment) Ordinance (No. 3) 1986 (as contained in Australian Capital Territory Ordinance No. 37 of 1986), the Credit Regulations (Amendment) (as contained in Australian Capital Territory Regulations 1986 No. 17), the Long Service Leave (Building and Construction Industry) (Amendment) Ordinance 1986 (as contained in Australian Capital Territory Ordinance No. 55 of 1986), the Domestic Violence (Miscellaneous Amendments) Ordinance 1986 (as contained in Australian Capital Territory Ordinance No. 53 of 1986), the Motor Omnibus Services (Amendment) Ordinance 1986 (as contained in Australian Capital Territory Ordinance No. 48 of 1986) and the Motor Omnibus Service Regulations (Amendment) (as contained in Australian Capital Territory Regulations 1986 No. 13).

Intention to withdraw: Senator Cooney, pursuant to Standing Order 109a, gave notice of his intention, after Question Time this day, to withdraw Business of the Senate, Notice of Motion No. 1 standing in his name for this day, for the disallowance of the Children's Services Ordinance 1986 (as contained in Australian Capital Territory Ordinance No. 13 of 1986).

Senator Cooney, by leave, made a statement relating thereto.

Papers: Senator Cooney, by leave, tabled the following Papers: Regulations and Ordinances-Standing Committee-Copies of Letters (7) between the Chairman and the Minister for Territories relating to the Children's Services Ordinance 1986, dated 4 September 1986, 9, 17 and 21 October 1986 and 11 and 13 November 1986 (2).

Transfer of Notice of Motion: Senator Lewis, pursuant to Standing Order 109a, having indicated his wish that the Notice of Motion standing in the name of Senator Cooney, for the disallowance of the Children's Services Ordinance 1986, as contained in Australian Capital Territory Ordinance No. 13 of 1986 and made under the Seat of Government (Administration) Act 1910, not be withdrawn, had his name put on the Notice of Motion.
