Notices of Motion:

Senator Durack: To move on Wednesday, 12 November 1986-That Regulation 4 of the Companies Regulations (Amendment), as contained in Statutory Rules 1986 No. 247 and made under the Companies Act 1981, be disallowed.

Senator Michael Baume: To move on the next day of sitting-That the Senate-

(a) notes that 23 October 1986 is the 30th Anniversary of the 1956 Hungarian uprising against Soviet oppression;

(b) recalls that Australia vigorously supported the Hungarian cause both in the Commonwealth Parliament and in the United Nations, where the Australian delegate said in 1956, ""The people of Hungary made themselves by their heroism the wards of the United Nations''; and

(c) calls on Australians to support the commemoration of this day as a symbol of the struggle for freedom and justice for all the oppressed nations of Central and Eastern Europe.

Intention to withdraw: Senator Reid, pursuant to Standing Order 109a, gave notice of her intention, at a later hour of the day, to withdraw Business of the Senate, Notice of Motion No. 2 standing in her name for this day, for the disallowance of the Co-operative Societies (Amendment) Ordinance (No. 2) 1986.

Senator Reid, by leave, made a statement relating thereto.
