SUBSIDY (CULTIVATION MACHINES AND EQUIPMENT) BILL 1986

The Minister for Veterans' Affairs (Senator Gietzelt), at the request of the Minister for Industry, Technology and Commerce (Senator Button) and pursuant to Notice of Motion not objected to as a Formal Motion, moved-That leave be given to introduce a Bill for an Act to provide for the payment of subsidy on the production, or in respect of the importation, of certain cultivation machines and related equipment, and for related purposes.

Question-put and passed.

Bill presented, and on the motion of Senator Gietzelt read a first time.

Suspension of Standing Orders to prevent delay: Senator Gietzelt, pursuant to contingent notice, moved-That so much of the Standing Orders be suspended as would prevent the Bill being passed through its remaining stages without delay.

Senator Gietzelt moved-That this Bill be now read a second time.

Explanatory Memorandum: Senator Gietzelt tabled an Explanatory Memorandum relating to the Subsidy (Cultivation Machines and Equipment) Bill 1986.
