Notices of Motion:

The Leader of the National Party of Australia in the Senate (Senator Collard): To move on the next day of sitting-That the Kakadu National Park Plan of Mangement, prepared under the National Parks and Wildlife Conservation Act 1975 and laid before the Senate on 18 September 1986, be disallowed.

Senator Messner: To move on the next day of sitting-That the following matters be referred to the Standing Committee on Finance and Government Operations-

(1) The particular procedures of the Commissioner of Taxation and the Administrative Appeals Tribunal, for-

(a) raising and amending income tax assessments;

(b) imposing penalties and interest on such assessments; and

(c) dealing with objections and appeals against them.

(2) Possible changes to streamline and simplify the existing system and to safeguard the rights of taxpayers.

Order of the Day discharged:

Senator Messner, by leave, moved-That General Business, Order of the Day No. 278 (Standing Committee on Finance and Government Operations-proposed reference), be discharged from the Notice Paper.

The Chairman of the Standing Committee on Regulations and Ordinances (Senator Cooney), in accordance with notice of intention given on 16 October 1986, withdrew Business of the Senate, Notices of Motion Nos 2, 3, 5 and 11 standing in his name for 8 sitting days hence, for the disallowance of the Air Navigation (Charges) Regulations (Amendment) (as contained in Statutory Rules 1986 No. 169), the Departure Tax Collection Regulations (Amendment), the Postal By-laws Amendment No. 2 of 1986, and the Air Navigation (Charges) Regulations (Amendment) (as contained in Statutory Rules 1986 No. 211).
