Contingent Notice of Motion: The Minister for Veterans' Affairs (Senator Gietzelt): To move (contingent on Message No. 292 from the House of Representatives, relating to the Veterans' Entitlements Bill 1985, being considered by the Senate)-That the Senate, having considered Message No. 292 from the House of Representatives, suspends so much of the Standing Orders as would prevent the requests for amendments and the amendments previously made by the Senate in the Veterans' Entitlements Bill 1985 being rescinded, and as would prevent the Bill being recommitted to the Committee of the Whole; and that such requests for amendments and amendments be hereby rescinded and that the Bill be recommitted forthwith.

Notice of Motion: Senator Kilgariff: To move on the next day of sitting-That the Senate notes with concern that the inquiry into the introduction of a gold tax is not intending to hold hearings in the Northern Territory, in spite of the importance of gold mining to the Northern Territory, to Australian gold production and to the number of people who may be affected by the recommendations of the inquiry.
