PRESCRIBED GOODS (GENERAL) ORDERS NOS 111A AND 100A-MOTIONS FOR DISALLOWANCE

The Leader of the National Party of Australia in the Senate (Senator Collard), at the request of the Leader of the Opposition in the Senate (Senator Chaney) and pursuant to notice, moved-That Order 111a of the Prescribed Goods (General) Orders, as contained in Prescribed Goods (General) Orders as Amended (Amendment) (being Export Control Orders No. 2 of 1986) and made under the Export Control Act 1982, be disallowed.

Suspension of Standing Orders: Senator Collard moved-That so much of the Standing Orders be suspended as would prevent Business of the Senate, Notice of Motion No. 3 standing in the name of Senator Chaney, for the disallowance of Prescribed Goods (General) Orders No. 100a being debated and voted on with Business of the Senate, Order of the Day relating to the disallowance of Prescribed Goods (General) Orders No. 111a.

Question-put and passed.

Senator Collard, at the request of Senator Chaney thereupon moved-That Order 100a of the Prescribed Goods (General) Orders, as contained in Prescribed Goods (General) Orders as Amended (Amendment) (being Export Control Orders No. 2 of 1986) and made under the Export Control Act 1982, be disallowed.

Debate ensued.

On the motion of the Minister for Finance (Senator Walsh) the debate was adjourned.

Ordered-That the resumption of the debate be an Order of the Day for the next day of sitting.
