The following 7 petitions, lodged with the Clerk by the Senators indicated, were received:

Senator Jessop, from 11 petitioners praying that the Senate reject the Australian Bill of Rights and Human Rights and Equal Opportunity Bills.

Senators Jessop and Maguire, from 8 and 16 petitioners, respectively, praying that the Senate reject the Australian Bill of Rights Bill 1985.

Senator Cook, from 1473 petitioners praying that the Senate enforce the law which forbids the promotion of cigarettes on television through sports sponsorship.

Senator Brownhill, from 54 petitioners praying that the Senate act to protect society from moral pollution and its harmful effects.

Senator Brownhill, from 90 petitioners praying that the Senate protect the rights of private enterprise and reject the introduction of any inequitable additional taxes such as capital gains taxes.

Senator Brownhill, from 266 petitioners praying that the Senate defer any action on the Australian Bill of Rights Bill 1985 for a period of 12 months.
