NOTICES

Notices of Motion:

The Minister for Industry, Technology and Commerce (Senator Button): To move on the next day of sitting-That, for the purpose of sub-section 8A (7) of the Australian Industry Development Corporation Act 1970, the Senate approves the giving of a guarantee to the Australian Industry Development Corporation in the terms set out in the Deed of Guarantee presented to the Senate by the Minister for Industry, Technology and Commerce on 26 November 1985.

Paper: Senator Button tabled the following Paper:

Australian Industry Development Corporation Act-Deed of Guarantee between the Minister for Industry, Technology and Commerce and the Australian Industry Development Corporation relating to loans to Saramane Pty Ltd for research on the Australian Anti-Malaria Vaccine Research Project.

The Manager of Government Business (Senator Grimes): To move on the next day of sitting-That, unless otherwise ordered-

(1) Government Business take precedence of General Business for the remainder of the present period of sittings.

(2) (a) The hours of meeting of the Senate on Wednesday, 27 November 1985, be-

10 a.m.-12.45 p.m.

2 p.m.-6.30 p.m.

8 p.m.-10.30 p.m.; and

(b) the Sessional Order relating to the adjournment of the Senate have effect at 10.30 p.m. on that day.

The Chairman of the Joint Committee of Public Accounts (Senator Georges): To move on the next day of sitting-That so much of the Standing Orders be suspended as would prevent the Joint Statutory Committee of Public Accounts meeting during the sitting of the Senate on Wednesday, 27 November 1985.

Notices of Motion withdrawn: Senator Kilgariff withdrew General Business, Notices of Motion Nos 45 and 48 standing in his name and at the request of Senator MacGibbon withdrew General Business, Notices of Motion Nos 9, 42 and 50.

Intention to withdraw: The Chairman of the Standing Committee on Regulations and Ordinances (Senator Cooney), pursuant to Standing Order 109A, gave notice of his intention, on the next day of sitting, at giving of Notices, to withdraw Business of the Senate, Notice of Motion No. 1 standing in his name for the next day of sitting, for the disallowance of the Electricity (Amendment) Ordinance 1985.

Senator Cooney, by leave, made a statement relating thereto.

Senator Cooney, pursuant to Standing Order 109A, gave notice of his intention, on the next day of sitting, at giving of Notices, to withdraw Business of the Senate, Notice of Motion No. 5 standing in his name for the next day of sitting and Notices of Motion Nos 2 and 3 standing in his name for 4 sitting days hence, for the disallowance of Telecommunications (General) By-laws Nos 42, 43 and 44, respectively.

Senator Cooney, by leave, made a statement relating thereto.
