PRESIDENT'S COMMISSION TO ADMINISTER OATH OR AFFIRMATION

The President announced that he had received from His Excellency the Administrator a Commission to administer to Senators the oath or affirmation of allegiance.

The Commission was read by the Clerk, as follows:

I, SIR JAMES ANTHONY ROWLAND, Administrator of the Government of the Commonwealth of Australia, pursuant to section 42 of the Constitution of the Commonwealth of Australia, hereby authorise Douglas McClelland, President of the Senate, from time to time, at Parliament House, Canberra, in the Australian Capital Territory, to administer the oath or affirmation of allegiance to such Senators as have not already made and subscribed that oath or affirmation since being elected or appointed, or since last being elected or appointed, as Senators.
