ORDER OF BUSINESS-RE-ARRANGEMENT: Suspension of Standing Orders

Senator Durack, at the request of the Leader of the Opposition in the Senate (Senator Chaney) and pursuant to contingent notice, moved-That so much of the Standing Orders be suspended as would prevent Senator Chaney moving a motion relating to the order of business on the Notice Paper.

Question-put and passed.

Senator Durack, at the request of Senator Chaney, thereupon moved-That, after consideration of Government Business, Order of the Day No. 1 (Health Legislation Amendment Bill 1984 (No. 2) and Social Security and Repatriation Legislation Amendment Bill (No. 2) 1984), intervening business be postponed till after consideration of General Business, Notice of Motion No. 135, standing in the name of Senator Reid relating to the appointment of a proposed Select Committee on Video Censorship and General Business, Notice of Motion No. 113, standing in the name of Senator Reid relating to a proposed moratorium on the availability of certain video material.

Debate ensued.
