IMMIGRATION STATUS OF MR S. J. PERRY-APPROACHES TO ''THE AGE'' NEWSPAPER-ANSWER TO QUESTION

The Leader of the Opposition in the Senate (Senator Chaney), by leave, moved-That the Senate take note of the answer given by the Attorney-General (Senator Gareth Evans) this day, to a Question without Notice asked by Senator Teague on 2 October 1984 relating to the immigration status of Mr S. J. Perry and approaches to The Age newspaper.

Debate ensued.

Leave refused: Senator Chaney sought leave to continue his remarks.

Objection being raised, leave not granted.

Debate continued.

On the motion of Senator Reid the debate was adjourned.

Ordered-That the resumption of the debate be an Order of the Day for the next day of sitting.
