Notices of Motion were given, as follows- The Attorney-General (Senator Gareth Evans): No. 1-To move on the next day of sitting-That leave be given to introduce a Bill for an Act to establish the Human Rights and Equal Opportunity Commission, to make provision in relation to human rights and in relation to equal opportunity in employment, and for related purposes.

No. 2-To move on the next day of sitting-That leave be given to introduce a Bill for an Act to repeal the Human Rights Commission Act 1981, to enact certain transitional provisions and to make certain amendments in consequence of the enactment of the Human Rights and Equal Opportunity Commission Act 1984.

Senator Durack: To move on the next day of sitting-That leave be given to introduce a Bill for an Act to alter the Constitution by restricting the ambit of the external affairs power of the Commonwealth so that it will better accord with the federal nature of the Constitution.

Senator Walters: To move on the next day of sitting-That the Senate calls upon the Government to acknowledge the widespread discontent with Medicare and amend the legislation accordingly.
