Notices of Motion were given, as follows- The Attorney-General (Senator Gareth Evans): To move on the next day of sitting-That leave be given to introduce a Bill for an Act to amend the Telecommunications (Interception) Act 1979.

Senator Reid: To move on the next day of sitting-That the Senate- (a) recognises the concern of the community in the Australian Capital Territory, New South Wales and other parts of Australia about the influx and importation of X-rated videos for sale, hire, reproduction and distribution;

(b) notes that the New South Wales Government is to ban the sale, hire, reproduction and private distribution of all X-rated videos in that State; and

(c) calls on the Federal Government to place a moratorium on the importation, sale, hire, reproduction and private distribution in the Australian Capital Territory and across Australia of all X-rated and other sexually sadistic and violent videos pending the outcome of the proposed joint select committee of inquiry into pornographic videos.

Senator Durack: To move on the next day of sitting-That leave be given to introduce a Bill for an Act to amend the Flags Act 1953.
