NOTICES

Notices of Motion were given, as follows: Senator Baume: To move 2 sitting days after today-That the Medical Services (Fees) Ordinance 1984, as contained in Australian Capital Territory Ordinance No. 7 of 1984 and made under the Seat of Government (Administration) Act 1910, be disallowed.

Senator Walters: To move on the next day of sitting-That the Senate condemns the Government for contemptuously betraying the trust of the Australian people by dishonouring more than 20 election promises in its first year of office, including major promises to- (a) immediately reduce income tax for 6 million Australians;

(b) reduce petrol prices;

(c) retain the health insurance rebate, and the home loan rebate;

(d) not increase taxation on superannuation payments; and

(e) not interfere with pensions.

Senator Reid: To move on the next day of sitting-That the Senate- (a) condemns the Federal Government for its failure to release the interim report of the Australian Capital Territory Self-Government Task Force;

(b) notes the need for open government to allow the people to understand the full implications of self-government for the Australian Capital Territory;

(c) calls on the Federal Government to cease planning for self-government in the Australian Capital Territory until such time as the people of the Australian Capital Territory have all the facts before them; and

(d) calls on the Federal Government to provide a financial impact statement on all the implications of self-government for the Australian Capital Territory before implementing any moves towards self-government.
