Notices of Motion were given, as follows- The Leader of the Australian Democrats (Senator Chipp): To move on the next day of sitting-That leave be given to introduce a Bill for an Act to prohibit the exportation of nuclear materials, and for purposes connected therewith.

Senator Haines: To move on the next day of sitting-That leave be given to introduce a Bill for an Act to amend the Trade Practices Act 1974 so as to give further protection to consumers in respect of defective motor vehicles.

Senator Jones: No. 1-To move on the next day of sitting-That the Senate deplores moves by the Queensland Government to encourage and facilitate sand mining on Moreton Island and urges that the Federal Government immediately declare the entire area of Moreton Island a national park.

No. 2-To move on the next day of sitting-That the Senate congratulates Queensland's banana growers, particularly those newcomers to the industry in North Queensland, who, for the first time, have produced more bananas than their counterparts across the border in New South Wales and are setting new records each year.
