The Leader of the Opposition in the Senate (Senator Chaney) gave Notices of Motion, as follows- No. 1-To move on the next day of sitting- (1) That the following matter be referred to the Joint Committee on the Broadcasting of Parliamentary Proceedings for inquiry and report: A suitable schedule of broadcasting arrangements for the Australian Broadcasting Corporation on the proposed new days and times of meeting of the Senate and the House of Representatives which will ensure a fair division of broadcast time between the Houses.

(2) That the Committee, for the purposes of its inquiry, have power to send for persons, papers and records.

(3) That a Message be sent to the House of Representatives requesting its concurrence in the foregoing Resolution.

No. 2-To move on the next day of sitting-That the Senate directs that the Senate Daily Hansard of Friday, 2 December 1983, be amended by leaving out ''always'' from the following extract from a response by the Attorney-General, recorded at page 3232, to a Question without Notice asked by Senator Sir John Carrick: ''Of course, it is a question of interpretation, in all the circumstances of a particular case, of what is a major blunder of real importance to Australia and no doubt some anxious consideration will always be given to the proper application of that criterion by the Ministers concerned.''
