APPROPRIATION BILL (NO. 1) 1983-84

-Message from the House of Representatives: The following Message from the House of Representatives was reported: MR PRESIDENT, Message No. 109 The House of Representatives transmits to the Senate a Bill intituled ''A Bill for an Act to appropriate certain sums out of the Consolidated Revenue Fund for the service of the year ending on 30 June 1984'', in which it desires the concurrence of the Senate.

The Attorney-General (Senator Gareth Evans) moved-That this Bill be now read a first time.

On the motion of the Leader of the Opposition in the Senate (Senator Chaney) the debate was adjourned.

Ordered-That the resumption of the debate be an Order of the Day for the next day of sitting.
