ELECTORAL REFORM-JOINT SELECT COMMITTEE-APPOINTMENT OF MEMBERS

The President informed the Senate that, pursuant to the Resolution agreed to by both Houses, he had received letters from the Leader of the Government, the Leader of the Opposition in the Senate and the Leader of the Australian Democrats, nominating Senators Sir John Carrick, Macklin, Robert Ray and Richardson to serve on the Joint Select Committee on Electoral Reform.

The Leader of the Government (Senator Button), by leave, moved-That the Senators nominated be appointed members of the Joint Select Committee on Electoral Reform .

Debate ensued.
