TRADE AND COMMERCE-STANDING COMMITTEE-REFERENCE

Senator Coleman, pursuant to Notice of Motion not objected to as a Formal Motion , moved-That the following matter be referred to the Standing Committee on Trade and Commerce-The prospects of trade between Australia and China, with particular reference to- (a) existing trade between Australia and China;

(b) prospects of exports to China including:

(i) goods,

(ii) services, and

(iii) technology;

(c) prospects of imports from China;

(d) impact of imports on local manufacturing industry;

(e) prospects for a re-direction of trade;

(f) economic and political considerations affecting trade with China;

(g) factors inhibiting trade development;

(h) identification and survey of key industries; and

(i) trade promotion and services.
