DEATHS OF FORMER SENATOR E. B. MAHER, AND OF FORMER MEMBERS, MESSRS A. M. BLAIN, W. P. CONELAN AND D. MINOGUE

The President informed the Senate of the death, on 31 December 1982, of Edmund Bede Maher, a former Senator for the State of Queensland from 1950 to 1965; and of the deaths of former Members of the House of Representatives: on 28 April 1983, of Adair Macalister Blain, a former Member for the Division of the Northern Territory from 1934 to 1949; on 28 February 1983, of William Patrick Conelan, a former Member for the Division of Griffith from 1939 to 1949; and on 7 January 1983, of Daniel Minogue, a former Member for the Division of West Sydney from 1949 to 1969.

The Leader of the Government (Senator Button), the Leader of the Opposition in the Senate (Senator Chaney), the Leader of the National Party of Australia in the Senate (Senator Scott) and Senator Kilgariff, by leave, made statements relating thereto.
