SCRUTINY OF BILLS-STANDING COMMITTEE-APPOINTMENT

The Minister for Resources and Energy (Senator Walsh), at the request of the Leader of the Government (Senator Button) and pursuant to Notice of Motion not objected to as a Formal Motion, moved- (1) That the Committee known as the Standing Committee for the Scrutiny of Bills, constituted by Resolution of the Senate on 25 May 1982, be re-constituted, under the same terms, and with the same functions and powers.

(2) That the Committee have power to consider the Minutes of Evidence and records of the Standing Committee for the Scrutiny of Bills appointed in the previous Parliament.

(3) That the foregoing provisions of this Resolution, so far as they are inconsistent with the Standing Orders, have effect notwithstanding anything contained in the Standing Orders.
