TAX AVOIDANCE AND EVASION-PROPOSED EDITING AND TABLING OF CERTAIN PAPERS-LETTER FROM ACTING PRIME MINISTER-STATEMENT BY PRESIDENT

The President informed the Senate that he had received a letter from the Acting Prime Minister, the Rt. Hon. J. D. Anthony, detailing the Government's reponse to the Senate Resolutions of 14 October and 25 November 1982, relating to the tabling of certain papers connected with tax avoidance and evasion.

Senator Evans, by leave, moved-That the Senate take note of the Statement.

Ordered-That the resumption of the debate be an Order of the Day for the next day of sitting, and that Senator Evans have leave to continue his speech on the resumption of the debate.
