The Minister for Finance (Senator Dame Margaret Guilfoyle) moved-That leave be given to Senators to move motions expressing opinions or making recommendations based on the Report of Estimates Committee A; that any motion or motions shall be disposed of before the Question is put on the Vote before the Chair; and that any resolutions be reported when the Chairman makes his Report to the President at the conclusion of proceedings in Committee of the Whole.

Senator Reid moved-That the Committee, having considered the Report of Estimates Committee A, recommends: That the Standing Orders Committee be requested to consider drawing up guidelines to assist in the resolution of the problem of intrusion by Committees into areas which may prejudice other Committees' operations.
