DROUGHT ASSISTANCE (PRIMARY PRODUCERS) BILL 1982

Order of the Day read for the adjourned debate on the Question-That this Bill be now read a second time-and on the amendment moved thereto by Senator Walsh, viz: At end of motion, add '', but the Senate is of the opinion that- (a) a limit should be set on the sum that any individual may receive in any one year;

(b) eligibility should be determined by a ceiling on total assets instead of the proposed liquidity test; and

(c) those persons who are predominantly dependent on their farm for their living should be objectively defined''.
