URGENCY MOTION

The President informed the Senate that he had received a letter from Senator Walsh advising that this day he intended to move- ''That in the opinion of the Senate the following is a matter of urgency: The recovery of tax evaded by vendors who sold company shares at prices which made no allowance for the company's contingent tax liability, and the need for the Senate to unequivocally support this action.''

And at least four Senators having risen in support of the motion- Senator Walsh thereupon moved the motion.

Debate ensued.

Motion to table documents: Senator Collard, pursuant to Standing Order 364, moved-That the documents quoted from by Senator Bolkus be laid upon the Table.

Question-put and passed. Senator Walsh, by leave, moved-That the documents to which Senator Bolkus referred be incorporated in Hansard.
