Senator Colston gave a Notice of Motion, as follows-That, on the next day of sitting, he would move-That the Senate notes that-

(a) during the period of the Labor Government from 1972 to 1975, the real value of single and married rate age pensions rose by 29 per cent and 24 per cent respectively;

(b) since the Fraser Government has been in power, the real value of the single and married rate pensions has remained static; and

(c) the Government must take immediate steps to increase the rate of age pensions to a realistic level to allow Australia's senior citizens to enjoy their well-earned retirement.
