NOTICE OF MOTION

Senator Walsh, by leave, gave a Notice of Motion, as follows-- That, on the next day of sitting, he would move--

(1) That, if the Senate be not sitting when the Standing Committee on Finance and Government Operations has completed its reports on the following matters, namely--(a) the continuing scrutiny of finance, administration and accountability of Commonwealth statutory authorities and bodies owned or controlled by the Commonwealth; and (b) matters referred to the Committee on 28 May 1981 arising from the Report of Estimates Committee B on the Additional Estimates 1980-81--

(i) the Committee may send any such Report to the President of the Senate or, if the President is unable to act, to the Deputy-President of the Senate; (ii) any such Report shall be deemed to have been presented to the Senate and the President or the Deputy-President is authorized to give directions for its printing and circulation; and

(iii) in such event, the President or the Deputy-President shall lay any such Report upon the Table at the next sitting of the Senate.

(2) That the foregoing provisions of this Resolution, so far as they are inconsistent with the Standing Orders, shall have effect notwithstanding anything contained in the Standing Orders.
