COMPENSATION (COMMONWEALTH EMPLOYEES) ACT--PAYMENTS--PROPOSED LEGISLATION

Senator Grimes, pursuant to notice, moved--That the Senate is of the opinion that legislation should be introduced urgently to provide for payments under the Compensation (Commonwealth Employees) Act to be restored to the 1974 levels, with annual indexation to apply subsequently to those amounts.

Debate ensued.

On the motion of Senator Thomas the debate was adjourned.

Ordered--That the resumption of the debate be an Order of the Day for the next day of sitting.
