Senator CONROY (12:00 PM) —I have had to speak many times when Senator Murray and Senator Cherry have raised these sorts of issues. This time I think you have probably reached a little too far. I do not truly believe that you want the Governor-General independently having to appoint people or consider rolling recommendations from the government. We have had one small experience of that a few years ago, so it is a little hard to get the Labor Party to let the G-G off the leash. I would have to say that you have been unable to sway me to your cause in this particular instance.
