Senator IAN CAMPBELL (Minister for the Environment and Heritage) (12:04 PM) —I want to make what I hope is a helpful suggestion that we deal with the revised Democrat amendment. As I understand, it is a set of words that might find consensus. I think all of the amendments we now have on the running sheet— amendments by the Greens, the Democrats, the Australian Progressive Alliance, and Senator Murphy—relate to clause 44. My understanding from informal chatter is that the Democrat amendment, as amended through negotiations, may make everyone comparatively happy.
