Senator ELLISON (Minister for Justice and Customs) (6:17 PM) —The information gathered would be lawfully obtained and would remain so and could still be used. Of course, if the legislation was not rejuvenated and expired at the end of 12 months, you would not be able to do anything after that, but anything done within the 12-month period would be lawful and that information could be used.
