Senator HARRADINE (3:49 PM) —by leave—I indicated that as far as I was concerned what ought to be done should be done on the basis of a notice of motion today and debate tomorrow. This is the first time I have heard that there would be an attempt to seek leave, and I was surprised when I heard the Leader of the Opposition in the Senate get up and seek leave. I had presumed that this matter, like other matters, would be dealt with on the next day of sitting so that it could be properly debated.


The ACTING DEPUTY PRESIDENT —Is there any objection to this motion being taken as formal?


Senator Harradine —Yes.
