Senator HILL (Minister for Defence) (10:26 PM) —As I understand it, there is nothing in the agreement or the implementation bill that would do that. If a future government wants to change Australia's patent law, that is a different thing, but, of course, it will have to go through a legislative process. Does this government have an intention to change it to a position closer to that of the United States? It has no such intention, but I cannot speak for future governments in future years.
