Senator ELLISON (Minister for Justice and Customs) (10:22 AM) —Senator Brown has asked whether the warrant could be issued against a member of parliament and whether they would be brought in under these provisions. That is the first question. The second one, which I do not think Senator Brown asked, is: could a member of parliament be asked to answer a question? That is one that I, rather than Senator Brown, pose, because it is all part and parcel of the same exercise. We believe parliamentary privilege would play a role here. However, as to how that would interact, I will take that on notice and advise the Senate.
